Shelyna Mariscal
Shelyna Mariscal is a Partner at Hansells Solicitors and is the Lead Partner of our Residential Conveyancing team, bringing extensive experience and a deep commitment to exceptional client service.
A graduate of Essex University, Shelyna earned her European Law Degree following an enriching year of study in Denmark. She completed her legal training at York Law School before joining Hansells as a trainee in 1994. She qualified as a solicitor in 1996 and became a Partner in 2005.
Since taking on leadership of the Residential Conveyancing department in 2018, Shelyna has played a pivotal role in shaping the team’s strategic direction. Her innovative approach has enhanced the firm’s case management systems, improved workflow efficiency, and strengthened client satisfaction. Under her leadership, the department has grown in both reach and reputation. She is passionate about guiding her team to deliver a consistently exceptional customer experience and prides herself on fostering a supportive and collaborative environment.
Before heading into Residential Conveyancing, Shelyna led the Personal Injury department, managing a wide spectrum of cases ranging from minor injuries to complex personal injury claims. Her professionalism, sound judgement, and ability to support clients through sensitive situations have been consistent hallmarks of her career.
Shelyna is also a past President of the Norwich and Norfolk Law Society—an appointment that reflects her dedication to the legal profession and her commitment to contributing to the local community. Her leadership and vision were instrumental in advancing professional standards and engagement within the region.
Operating from both the Norwich and North Walsham offices, Shelyna is known for building strong, lasting client relationships grounded in trust, communication, and care.
In addition to her fee-earning responsibilities, Shelyna serves as Hansells’ Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and assists with compliance at Hansells, ensuring the firm meets the highest regulatory and ethical standards.
