Partner (Notary Public)
Jane Stockings
Jane is Head of the Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence teams at Hansells and brings over 20 years of specialist experience in handling complex personal injury compensation claims and medical negligence cases against NHS Trusts, private healthcare providers, and general practitioners.
Her particular focus is on medical negligence claims arising from the actions or omissions of healthcare providers. She regularly investigates incidents such as misdiagnosis, delayed diagnosis, surgical errors, complications during childbirth, and other serious clinical failures across both NHS and private care settings.
Jane graduated from Keele University and went on to complete her legal training at the Guildford College of Law. She later obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Notarial Practice from the University of Cambridge and qualified as a Notary Public in 2009.
She offers notarial services independently alongside her role as a solicitor, assisting clients who need documents legally verified for use overseas. This includes certifying copies of important documents, verifying identities, witnessing signatures, and preparing notarial certificates for use in matters such as overseas property transactions, marriage abroad, business dealings in foreign jurisdictions, or providing evidence of qualifications to international employers.
Outside of the office, Jane enjoys cycling, running, and spending time with her family.
