Bryan Gillery

Bryan specialises in all types of commercial property work, with a special interest and long experience in social housing and property development work. After gaining a first class honours Law degree at Liverpool University (first in order of merit) and a first class pass in the Law Society Solicitors Qualification exams (also first in order of merit), Bryan started his career in local government.

Since then Bryan has had over 40 years in private practice. For many years he led Eversheds’ commercial property, house building and affordable housing teams in the East of England and in January 2011 he moved to Metcalfe Copeman and Pettefar.

Bryan joined Hansells in April 2013. Bryan has regularly been cited by Legal Business, Legal 500 and Chambers as a leader in his field. Legal 500 2008 said “his experience and responsiveness are outstanding” and Legal 500 2012 described Bryan as being “a heavyweight lawyer with outstanding experience”.

Bryan has been a regular conference speaker and was a member of the Council of the Norwich Forum for the Construction Industry for many years. Bryan is now a director of the Norfolk Historic Buildings Trust.
